Privacy & Cookie Policy

This policy explains what personal data praveshsingh.com processes, why, the cookies and storage used, and the rights you have under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, other US state privacy laws, and India's DPDP Act 2023.

In short

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics until you consent. If you accept, one privacy-friendly Google Analytics 4 measurement runs with IP anonymisation to count page visits. Your choice is stored locally in your browser, can be changed anytime via "Cookie settings", and this site never sells or shares personal data for advertising.

1. Who is responsible (data controller)

Pravesh Singh, operating this personal website and SoftEdge Technology Solutions (Mohali, Punjab, India), is the data controller for personal data processed through this website.

  • Contact for privacy matters: hello@praveshsingh.com
  • Postal address: SoftEdge Technology Solutions, Mohali, Punjab, India

2. What data this site collects

This is a brochure-style website with no user accounts, comments, forms that submit data, or advertising. Personal data reaches us only through three channels:

  • Strictly necessary storage: your cookie choice, stored in your browser only (see section 3). This never leaves your device and is not personal data we receive.
  • Analytics (only with your consent): pseudonymous usage data collected by Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, approximate region (country/city level), device and browser type, referrer, and events such as clicks on contact links. IP addresses are anonymised; GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
  • Direct email: if you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to respond (section 6).

We do not collect special-category data, do not profile visitors, and do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.

3. Cookies & local storage used

Before you make a choice, the only thing stored is nothing — the consent prompt itself uses no cookies. After you choose:

No consent yet? The _ga cookies above are not set at all until you accept analytics in the or the banner.

4. About Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2XHZ5NJZLK) to understand, in aggregate, which pages and essays are useful. Configuration choices that protect visitors:

  • IP anonymisation is enabled; GA4 does not log or store users' IP addresses.
  • No Google Ads products, remarketing, or advertising features are enabled; ad-related consent signals are permanently denied.
  • Event data is retained for a limited period (up to 14 months).
  • GA4 loads only after you opt in; before that, nothing is transmitted to Google from this site.

Data collected via GA4 is processed by Google LLC. You can learn how Google handles analytics data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites ↗. You can also block analytics generally, e.g. with browser settings or extensions.

  • Analytics (EU/UK visitors): your consent, under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. Consent is opt-in, granular, and as easy to withdraw as to give — via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page.
  • Analytics (other regions): your consent as well — we apply one high standard globally rather than geo-differentiating.
  • Replying to your email: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering a contract / responding to your inquiry) and our legitimate interest in answering correspondence.
  • Strictly necessary storage: storing your consent choice is exempt from the cookie-consent requirement under ePrivacy guidance because it is strictly necessary to honour your request (your choice).

6. When you contact us by email

If you email hello@praveshsingh.com, we use your address and message solely to respond and, where relevant, to prepare a proposal or engagement. Correspondence is kept in our mailbox for up to 24 months and is never added to a marketing list. Client engagement data (contracts, invoicing) is handled by SoftEdge Technology Solutions under separate documentation.

7. Your privacy rights & how to exercise them

European Union & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing; where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (see the button below). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority — in the UK, the ICO.

California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states

California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. This website does not sell and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and has not done so in the preceding 12 months. The "Cookie settings" control below functions as the opt-out and preference mechanism. Similar rights are provided by Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other state privacy laws; we honour opt-out preference signals to the extent required.

India (DPDP Act 2023)

As a Data Principal you may access a summary of the personal data processed, request correction and erasure, nominate another individual to exercise your rights, and withdraw consent at any time, as described in our engineering guidance on DPDP compliance.

Exercising your rights

Withdraw or change your analytics consent at any time — this takes effect immediately in your browser. For anything else (access, deletion, questions), email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Email a privacy request

8. Retention & international transfers

GA4 analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months; your consent choice stays on your device until you clear it. Email correspondence is retained up to 24 months.

This site is operated from India. When you consent to analytics, data may be processed by Google in the United States and other countries. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the UK and Swiss extensions, and transfers are otherwise covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. A copy of appropriate safeguards can be requested from us by email.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will change and, where consent is affected, we will re-ask for consent before any new processing begins. The consent banner records the version of your choice so a policy change can trigger a fresh prompt when needed.
